I failed the task.....by Emma

Oh dear I failed Sarah's task I lasted a whole 24 hours not eating chocolate before I sat munching on a bar, it soon dawned on me what i was doing but it was to late it was gone.......and it tasted lovely.
I have to mention though that I began weight watchers again on Monday having lost 3 stone last year on the weight programme, I have gone back in the hope I can shift a little more weight so the chocolate bar was included in my pro points allowance. First weigh in is this Monday the 28th so watch this space on how much the chocolate affected me.
Sarah is back from Ireland we had a good old catch up on the phone last night, there was me chatting away about the quiz night and what we needed to do and I hadn't even asked her if she had a good holiday, sorry about that Sarah I am pleased to have you back honest.
Its 4 weeks today the quiz night so we are excited but apprehensive too, the preparation is coming along nicely, the raffle tickets should be on sale within a week.
Well i have just got back from the gym, had a great work out but must now get to work so speak again soon.

update by Emma......

well well this blog is fantastic for keeping you all up to date on the happenings of our journey to The Great Wall of China and beyond, Its great also at finding out ideas my fellow trekker has for us, GIVING UP CHOCOLATE Sarah honestly are you sure ? I love the way you have consulted me on this ridiculous idea, lets be honest with out chocolate what else is there in life to keep us going.
I will of course complete this task and will have fun thinking of payback, ideas on a postcard please......
Glad to here my fellow trekker and good friend is having a good time with her folks, I doubt there is any chance I will be sampling the homemade food she refers to in her post as she has put it "the sausage rolls are all gone" Brownies no doubt will have been devoured too by now, oh well Em stick with the carrot sticks that will see you through.
My fitness regime has been put on the back boiler this week but that's not to say I have not wanted to participate in a few visits to the gym, for reasons beyond my control I have not been such a regular visitor, but I will make up for this next week.
Great news also,  I received a parcel in the post yesterday from Paul O Grady, yes we have received a nodding Olga, signed photo and a lovely letter wishing us good luck. Another raffle prize to add to our growing collection, Thank you Mr O Grady much appreciated.
Well the quiz night really is fast approaching and when Sarah returns from her hols we will be making final decisions on the raffle prizes and will be announcing that the tickets are on sale.....watch this space

take care all and Sarah see you soon, I miss the daily chats.

Hi all

You will be pleased to know that me and my sis are still keeping fit even though we are on our hols! We went running again yesterday and the weather has been kind to us again today so we have ventured out twice today with our dad joining us too. In total we have walked & when I say walk I mean proper walking a total of 2 & half hours today. We also risked our lives doing this and your lucky I am still ok to up date this blog because for some reason the Irish don't like to tie there dogs up and don't seem to worry about their dogs running out onto the roads (don't panic not main roads!) chasing cars or humans! On the last leg of our morning walk we encountered at least 4 dogs the last being a grumpy old Jack Russell that proceeded on growling at us. I know he was probably protecting his property but he was out in the road and we didn't even venture onto his property, I think he thought he owned the road outside of his house as well. So me and Anna just kept walking at a rather fast pace to get pass him, god knows what we would of done if it had been a big dog! Well we will see what the weather is tomorrow before we venture out, we haven't been out biking yet or gone swimming.
Well I have been eating lots of naughty food whilst over here, all mums home made cooking, I have finished off the box of sausage rolls. I just got brownies, muffins, ice cream & banoffee pie to go, all homemade so it tastes delicious and can't let it go to waste. I have just finished off a pack of giant buttons as well, so now you know why we have been out & about exercising.
Anyway Anna and I have decided from Tuesday 22nd February (day after our hols) that we are going to give up chocolate until Easter. We do this every year not for any particular reason but just to prove to ourselves that we have got will power! Also I am going to make Emma do it as well but she doesn't know it yet!

Saz x

Hi all

Well watch you all been up to? Busy?
Well as I hope you have read in Emma's last post that we have reached the £1000 pound mark with all our fundraising attempts. Emma and I are so happy, we know we still have a long way to go but £1000 is a lot of money and we are proud to have come this far. A big thank you for all the help and support from our family, friends and colleagues - you know who you are!
I am still keeping on top of my keep fit regime! I know you will probably bored of me going on about this but its such a big deal to me, with the weather slightly improving and it getting lighter in the mornings I am able start running again. I also went cycling twice last week and swimming, I really like swimming and plan to go once a week with my sister staring from next week.
I am updating this blog from Ireland at the mo, I am over here visiting my parents this week but don't worry am still keeping fit! My sister and I went running this morning and plan to go walking later when it stops raining! I know we are gonna put on loads of weight with mums homemade cooking that's why we got to keep active!

Anyway may the luck of the Irish be with you!

We did it......By Emma

We have reached a milestone the first £1000 has been raised, in fact we have achieved 22 percent of our £5000 target. The sales of the cookbook have meant we have reached it alot earlier than we imagined and both Sarah and I are so pleased.

Its been a while since I last posted but that's not to say I have not been busy with fundraising and training, the quiz night is fast approaching but Sarah has worked so hard we are all up to date with the preparation. Yes I have to mention how hard Sarah has worked towards this. Of course I have had some input but really with out Sarah I think i would be running around like a headless chicken. We can squeeze one more team in so please if you wish to attend let us know and we can book your team in for the quiz night being held on the 24th March at The Rare Breeds Centre, Its had a fantastic response and the tables have been booked up in such a quick time, we hope everybody will enjoy it.

The raffle prizes are still arriving which is just amazing, some companies have been so generous with £50 voucher from John Lewis, all tesco stores donating I cant name them all but please do check out our sponsors page to see the generosity shown and THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to everybody who has donated. We will be posting information soon on how you can purchase raffle tickets, trust me when i say I think everyone will be wanting some. The raffle will be drawn on the evening of the quiz night but that's not to say people not attending cant have a go at winning some of the top prizes we have on offer.

Training is going well I am finding the stepper at the gym a little less painful now and I feel really fit and healthy at the moment with my regular trips to the gym. Work is busy too so I am on the go alot at the moment.
Sarah and I are taking a much needed night off on Friday the 12th though where we are heading to a Chinese restaurant called Cosmo in Hastings, its a bit of a journey but so worth it. We are calling it an evening getting used to Chinese food in preparation for china (OK really its an excuse to eat lots of yummy food including marshmallows and chocolate) There are 8 of us in all so should be a nice social evening.

Well I am sure Sarah will be posting soon she is off to Ireland next week to visit her parents, I hope she has a good catch up with her folks.
That's me signing off till next time, don't forget to purchase your cook books before we run out.
